Forbo Marmoleum

Forbo has been making Marmoleum for well over a century. It starts with linseed oil pressed from flax, then pine rosin, wood flour and natural pigments on a jute backing. Cinch LOC SEAL takes that surface and bonds it to a waterproof core with cork underneath, so a material that used to belong to commercial buildings installs in a house in an afternoon with no glue and no nails.

It behaves unlike anything else we carry. It reaches room temperature fast, so it feels warm rather than cold. The cork takes 17 dB out of every footstep. And because the color runs through natural pigment rather than a printed film, the palette goes places a wood-look floor cannot follow, from quiet greys to a genuine saturated blue.
