Real Wood on a Waterproof Core

Woodhills is the engineered hardwood line in MSI's Everlife family, and it is the reason to read this guide differently from the vinyl collections. The surface is a genuine sliced wood veneer, so the grain, the knots, and the color variation are the tree's rather than a printed pattern's, and no two planks repeat.

Under that veneer sits a waterproof core, sealed with a CrystaLux Ultra finish and an attached pad, installed with a floating click-lock profile and no acclimation period. That combination is what puts real hardwood in kitchens and entryways, which is where traditional engineered wood has always been the harder sell.

All 11 colors run 6.5 inches wide by 48 inches long. Nine are oak; Brook Timber is hickory, which brings noticeably more plank-to-plank shading, and it is worth seeing in person before committing a whole floor to it.

Because the surface is real wood, samples matter more here than anywhere else in the Everlife range. Grain, knot placement, and the way a wire-brushed or sawn texture catches raking afternoon light are the things a product photograph cannot answer for you.

Gray · Woodhills

Liora Oak

Fumed slate gray with bold limed figure.

MSI Everlife Woodhills Liora Oak - Gray flooring
CrystaLux Ultra finish · 6.5" x 48" · Click-Lock Floating

Liora Oak is the design piece in the Woodhills range: pale cerused figure against slate gray, at a contrast level that makes each real oak board distinctly its own. It belongs in a room where the floor is meant to be a decision rather than a backdrop, like a statement powder room or a loft. Keep the surrounding finishes plain and it carries the space.

Pairs Well With

White walls, black steel hardware, marble or concrete surfaces, sculptural lighting, monochrome modern styling.

Best For

Design-forward interiors, urban lofts, statement powder rooms, high-contrast contemporary spaces, modern coastal homes.

Blonde · Woodhills

Aaron Blonde Oak

Real oak, finished light and left honest.

MSI Everlife Woodhills Aaron Blonde Oak - Blonde flooring
CrystaLux Ultra finish · 6.5" x 48" · Click-Lock Floating

Aaron Blonde Oak is genuine sliced oak, so the grain you see is the grain in the board rather than a print, and small dark knots turn up where the tree put them. That authenticity is the reason to choose engineered hardwood over a wood-look plank in a room where the floor gets seen up close. The pale finish suits open plans and sun-filled suites.

Pairs Well With

White or cream walls, light oak furniture, brushed-nickel or matte-black hardware, linen upholstery, pared-back minimalist styling.

Best For

Scandinavian-influenced living rooms, bright open-plan layouts, coastal-modern new builds, sun-filled primary suites, light-and-airy renovations.

Aura Gold Oak

Golden oak with knots that could only be real.

MSI Everlife Woodhills Aura Gold Oak - Blonde flooring
CrystaLux Ultra finish · 6.5" x 48" · Click-Lock Floating

Aura Gold Oak reads unmistakably as wood because it is: the cathedral figure and the warm knots come from the veneer itself, and no two boards repeat. That gives a traditional living room or a farmhouse kitchen the depth a printed golden oak never quite reaches. The tone warms a room noticeably, which suits cream cabinetry and stained furniture.

Pairs Well With

Cream and warm-white walls, antique brass hardware, stained-wood furniture, jewel-toned textiles, classic layered styling.

Best For

Traditional living rooms, warm farmhouse kitchens, dens and studies, English-country interiors, homes that want honest golden wood.

Bali Buff Oak

Wire-brushed oak with limed highlights you can feel.

MSI Everlife Woodhills Bali Buff Oak - Blonde flooring
CrystaLux Ultra finish · 6.5" x 48" · Click-Lock Floating

The wire-brushed surface on Bali Buff Oak is physical texture in real wood, so the pale limed highlights sit down in the grain where the brush opened it. Running a hand across it is the fastest way to understand what separates this collection from a wood-look plank. The sand-beige tone suits coastal and organic-modern rooms.

Pairs Well With

Warm white walls, woven natural textures, light oak or rattan furniture, aged-brass fixtures, soft neutral upholstery.

Best For

Coastal-modern homes, organic-modern interiors, bright family rooms, transitional kitchens, beach houses wanting real wood.

Blonde · Woodhills

Coral Ash Oak

The palest real oak in the Woodhills range.

MSI Everlife Woodhills Coral Ash Oak - Blonde flooring
CrystaLux Ultra finish · 6.5" x 48" · Click-Lock Floating

Coral Ash Oak keeps its figure quiet and its knots almost absent, which is what a minimalist or Japandi room wants from a floor: real wood grain without incident. In a small or low-light room it does more lifting than any other color here. Ivory-blonde this pale reads best with restrained furniture and open floor.

Pairs Well With

Bright white walls, pale oak furniture, matte-black or brushed-nickel fixtures, raw linen textiles, spare considered styling.

Best For

Minimalist interiors, Japandi living rooms, bright primary bedrooms, small or low-light rooms needing lift, gallery-style spaces.

Kings Buff Oak

Sun-warmed oak with a limed finish and honest knots.

MSI Everlife Woodhills Kings Buff Oak - Blonde flooring
CrystaLux Ultra finish · 6.5" x 48" · Click-Lock Floating

Kings Buff Oak keeps the knots the tree grew, scattered unevenly the way they are in a real board, with pale cerused highlights picking out the grain around them. That texture is the reason it works in a bright kitchen where a smoother blonde would look plain. The sandy warmth suits coastal and Cape Cod interiors.

Pairs Well With

White shaker cabinetry, brass hardware, navy and sage accent walls, woven natural textures, cream upholstery.

Best For

Bright kitchens, coastal renovations, open-plan family spaces, organic-modern interiors, Cape Cod homes.

Blonde · Woodhills

Moorville Oak

Muted greige oak for a room that has to please everyone.

MSI Everlife Woodhills Moorville Oak - Blonde flooring
CrystaLux Ultra finish · 6.5" x 48" · Click-Lock Floating

Moorville Oak is the Woodhills color for a whole-home install or a house heading to market: real oak grain, an even gray-beige tone, and nothing that commits the room to a style. The gentle movement keeps a long run from looking uniform without drawing attention. It works against white, greige, and natural wood alike.

Pairs Well With

White or greige walls, two-tone cabinetry, brushed-nickel and matte-black hardware, soft neutral textiles, mixed-metal fixtures.

Best For

Broad-appeal renovations, transitional living rooms, new-construction neutrals, resale-focused updates, light-modern kitchens.

Brook Timber Hickory

Genuine hickory, with all the movement that brings.

MSI Everlife Woodhills Brook Timber Hickory - Brown flooring
CrystaLux Ultra finish · 6.5" x 48" · Click-Lock Floating

Hickory varies more from board to board than oak does, and Brook Timber puts that range on display: taupe-gray shading against smoky brown, shifting noticeably plank to plank. A room with strong natural light is where that movement pays off, since the shading needs light to read. It suits mountain-modern and lodge interiors where the floor is part of the character.

Pairs Well With

Cream walls, leather furniture, black steel and bronze hardware, stone fireplace surrounds, wool and plaid textiles.

Best For

Mountain-modern interiors, statement living rooms, cozy dens, cabin and lodge renovations, rooms with strong natural light.

Chestnut Heights Oak

Mid-brown oak with genuine depth in the figure.

MSI Everlife Woodhills Chestnut Heights Oak - Brown flooring
CrystaLux Ultra finish · 6.5" x 48" · Click-Lock Floating

Chestnut Heights Oak gets its depth from real grain rather than a printed shadow, which is why each plank holds up when the light rakes across it in the afternoon. The soft gray cast keeps the brown from feeling dated and lets it sit with both warm and cool finishes. It suits Craftsman renovations and warm transitional kitchens.

Pairs Well With

Cream or sage cabinetry, aged-bronze hardware, warm-toned area rugs, natural stone counters, layered traditional textiles.

Best For

Warm-transitional kitchens, family rooms, Craftsman renovations, modern-rustic interiors, deeper saturated palettes.

Dorn Oak

Weathered oak character on a clean, livable finish.

MSI Everlife Woodhills Dorn Oak - Brown flooring
CrystaLux Ultra finish · 6.5" x 48" · Click-Lock Floating

Dorn Oak's defined darker figure gives the surface a softly aged read while the finish stays smooth and easy to keep, which is the combination most modern-rustic rooms are actually after. The taupe brown works with both painted and natural wood cabinetry. It is the Woodhills color for a room that wants lived-in character without visible distressing.

Pairs Well With

Warm neutral walls, black or pewter hardware, natural stone accents, woven jute rugs, casual transitional furniture.

Best For

Modern-rustic interiors, transitional living rooms, farmhouse renovations, dens and offices, homes wanting lived-in wood character.

Brown · Woodhills

Estate Oak

Dark oak with real saw texture in the surface.

MSI Everlife Woodhills Estate Oak - Brown flooring
CrystaLux Ultra finish · 6.5" x 48" · Click-Lock Floating

Estate Oak pairs a deep espresso stain with visible saw texture, and because the texture is in the wood, the dark-on-dark movement shifts as you cross the room rather than staying fixed. That is what keeps a very dark floor from flattening in a formal dining room or a library. Deeper floors reward good lighting and a rug in the main path.

Pairs Well With

Cream and warm-white walls, brass and gold fixtures, jewel-toned upholstery, marble surfaces, leather accents.

Best For

Formal dining rooms, libraries and studies, statement primary bedrooms, traditional estates, high-contrast contemporary interiors.

Woodhills FAQ

The questions homeowners and designers ask when comparing the Woodhills colors and specifications.

What is MSI Everlife Woodhills?

Woodhills is MSI's waterproof engineered hardwood line. The surface is a genuine sliced oak or hickory veneer bonded to a waterproof core, sealed with a CrystaLux Ultra finish, in a 6.5 inch by 48 inch click-lock plank. All 11 active colors share that build.

Is MSI Everlife Woodhills waterproof?

Yes. The core beneath the wood veneer is 100% waterproof, which is what puts real hardwood into kitchens, entryways, and laundry rooms. As with any wood surface, standing water should still be wiped up rather than left to sit.

Is Woodhills real wood?

Yes. The top layer is a sliced wood veneer, not a printed film, so the grain, the knots, and the color variation are the tree's. That is what separates Woodhills from the wood-look vinyl and hybrid collections in the Everlife family, and it is why samples matter here more than anywhere else.

What size are Woodhills planks?

Every Woodhills color is 6.5 inches by 48 inches, so the visual scale stays consistent from room to room across a whole-home install.

How is Woodhills installed?

Woodhills floats with a click-lock profile over a properly prepared substrate, with no glue, no nails, and no acclimation period, which is unusual for engineered hardwood. The pad is already attached. Follow MSI's instructions for expansion gaps, moisture testing, and subfloor flatness.

Is Woodhills a good choice for pets and busy homes?

The CrystaLux Ultra finish and the waterproof core handle normal household traffic well. Brook Timber Hickory, Chestnut Heights Oak, and Dorn Oak carry the most natural variation, which is what keeps everyday marks from standing out. Keep pet claws trimmed as you would on any wood floor.

Which Woodhills color is best for a bright room?

Coral Ash Oak is the palest, with Aaron Blonde Oak and Moorville Oak next. All three keep real oak grain visible while lifting a room. Because the surface is genuine wood, look at a sample in the room's own light before deciding, since raking afternoon sun changes how the grain reads.

How do I choose between the Woodhills colors?

Start with tone, then texture. Coral Ash Oak, Aaron Blonde Oak, and Moorville Oak stay quiet; Bali Buff Oak and Kings Buff Oak add wire-brushed and cerused texture; Chestnut Heights Oak, Dorn Oak, and Brook Timber Hickory bring depth and movement; Estate Oak and Liora Oak are the two that lead a room outright.
